9-1-1 Wireless

Nortex staff oversees the wireless telephone number identification technology implementation in our nine county region. Wireless vendors are required to schedule testing of each tower to ensure that 9-1-1 calls are routed to the correct and closest PSAP.

Phase I Wireless (delivery of a wireless caller's individual telephone number and the address of the tower transmitting the call) has been successfully implemented.

Phase II (delivery of a more exact location of the calling party along with individual wireless telephone number) implementation is anticipated in the near future.
